I tell my children "I love you" every day and especially when one of us is leaving. It may be the last time and the last words they hear. A person just never knows.
I also try not to let upset or hurtful words be the last ones anyone will hear.

Yes, my mother-in-law is back in the hospital again and we saw her yesterday. She's weak and uncomfortable, but we were able to talk.
