Vent of the year (at least for me)
No, not Spurs losing at Burnley, more a general vent. Better to let it out than to hold it in (as the actress said to the Bishop)
I'll have a rage than retire (un)gracefully to continue reading the wonderful book "Zen in English Literature and Oriental Classics". "East is East and West is West, never the twain shall meet"? - Kipling never knew what he was talking about!
Anyway, where was I? I'm almost forgetting my vent. Almost.
What is it with some people? On another Forum I came in for the usual stick of "you are always quoting others"....can't you speak for yourself? Ad nauseum. Well I did try quoting A. A. Milne:-
A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself, always a laborious business.
....but that didn't cut the mustard, no idea why not. But then I tried a thread of my own, made up totally of my own poetry with autobiographical details. Quite long. Not a quote in sight.
And where were my accusers? Nowhere to be seen or heard. Somehow they missed it!
And today, here on SW (or is it Unsimilar Worlds?) Catching a thread on the orange haired genius "our Donald", I made a couple of posts. Quickly I was told/accused/judged:-
Apparently I was...... Obsessed 24/7 by a man I have never met, blighting my twilight years.
WTF was that all about?
No matter, BUT REALLY !!
Anyway, now back to R. H. Blyth's classic book, once again in the Oxfam Book and Record shop, Bowie again on the player.
My 24/7 obsession with The Donald in remission.
