Has it really been this long?
I had all but forgotten about this site the last couple of years. A lot has changed in my life, so I figure I鈥檇 give an update, in case anyone is interested.
I did end up divorcing my spouse of nearly 20 years, finalized in January of 2020, right before the pandemic hit.
We continued to share our home as I built up my finances so I could move out and get my own place. This worked great until his company sent everyone home to work. It was originally a temporary set up, but ended up being permanent.
So, there we were, no longer a couple, but sharing a home where we both lived and worked.
It helped that we get along generally, but after a year, I really needed to move out. However, my income was still too low to qualify for a mortgage.
Fortunately, I used to flip properties with my parents, so we decided to look for a house that needed work, and ended up finding one only about 10 minutes from my ex鈥檚 house, which in this real estate market was a miracle!
I had some equity from the house I shared with my ex, so I鈥檝e spent the last 9 months gutting much of it and remodeling it, while simultaneously running my eBay business. It has been quite overwhelming, but I鈥檓 getting closer to the finish line!
