By your manner, appearance, even by facial expressions or voice ? My niece tells me I have “RBF”, so if I’m not smiling, I tend to look rather grim, which has startled strangers.

Aside from one person, I can't think of a time I've done that, right off. I might have frightened small children a few times times by my appearance, if any had seen me.
