The only mistake people make in life is when they thought they knew something…

…so tell me. Whey do people still rely on what they know? That’s the very definition of a mistake.

You might try to tell me it’s possible to know something and not be mistaken, but isn’t that what everyone who was mistaken believed?

Maybe that’s why in terms of law we say “innocent until proven guilty”, or perhaps in this instance I would say, “stupid until proven smart”.

If the script can even possibly flip, you’ll want to make sure it’s right side up.

They have to otherwise they go mad

@revenant I felt a lot more closer to madness after depending on what I know just to find out I was always wrong.

@Reject That is a problem alright if you always find out you are always wrong. But then who tells you you are always wrong ?
Reject · 31-35, M
@revenant I do after I discover how little I actually knew. This happened so often I just stopped believing in my ideas entirely. I now see them as a very small part of a world that is unknown.

@Reject I am sure you know a lot that other people are ignorant about. It is not too healthy if you put yourself down.

@revenant Thanks! I don’t see it as putting myself down as much as an effort to avoid the bigger problem where I put myself on a pedestal thinking I know far more than I actually do. I used to be arrogant about things after I realized I knew more than most people I spoke too. Regardless of if that was true or not, being judgmental about it definitely cost me a lot of mistakes I could’ve avoided.

@Reject oh pride ! but you went from one extreme to another !
Reject · 31-35, M
@revenant Yes! Pride! I would agree about me being the other extreme if I was a sad person, but I’m not. I’m actually extremely happy. People who put themselves down aren’t happy about it I imagine.

@Reject but why the avatar and why the username ?

@revenant My name and profile picture have to do with how I was a sad person most of my life. For the last 3 years though I’ve been happier than I’ve ever been and it’s only growing. Even so I didn’t change my name or picture because they’re still accurate. My life isn’t without sadness, but what I learned is that happiness isn’t without sadness. It’s there despite it.
