I am going to attempt to translate what I think you mean by this post as it reads is apparently not what it means.
"The only mistake people make in life is when they thought they knew something" TRANSLATION: Mistakes are only made because a person thought they knew a piece of information which they were incorrect about. MY RESPONSE: Untrue, if someone trips over they probably weren't thinking "Oh, I know how to walk correctly without tripping over" they just tripped over it was a mistake that occured without even being consciously aware of the knowledge needed to prevent the fall. The point being you don't need to know or think you know anything to make a mistake (a mistake is an unintended consequence to an action)
so tell me. Whey do people still rely on what they know? That’s the very definition of a mistake
TRANSLATION: Why do people think they know better than the information presented to them at the time? That is what a mistake is. RESPONSE: Autopilot, you would be a walking ball of stress if you were always analysing every situation no matter how many times you'd been in it. No a mistake is an unintended consequence to an action it doesn't require your reliance on knowledge. Your hand might slip and touch a hot stove it isn't necessarily because you thought you knew better. The point being making mistakes is a natural thing
" Maybe that’s why in terms of law we say “innocent until proven guilty”, or perhaps in this instance I would say, “stupid until proven smart”. " How on Earth does that correlate with relying on knowledge and making mistakes? Do you know what knowledge means?
@Reject I guess I am a mass debater. Just kidding but really I do like a debate and you have provided me a couple of excellent opportunities to debate with you about because I heavily disagree with the statements you are making.
I'm not determined to prove you wrong as such but when I see something I disagree with I feel the want to make my point so I can clarify the opinions I already have (it teaches me about myself) sometimes it even gives me an opportunity to learn something new and change my point of view (although not in this case, this post is just incorrect).
Whether you take anything from it is up to you, it doesn't matter to me.
@Misanthropic I like debating with people too, I just wish what I had with you was a debate. It’s more of you debating with yourself using me as your excuse to. The points you made have nothing to do with mine so it makes sense that you learn a great deal about yourself in this process. As incorrect as I apparently am to you, you’re the one who tries to debate that.
