My space and an ice cream will do me good.
I learned the importance of space. That even people closest to your heart, no matter how much you know them, need space. They won’t always tell you what upsets them, how life treats them, or what plans are they up to; and that’s okay. Because it doesn’t mean that they don’t share their worries with you, you don’t mean anything to them. It’s just that at some point of our lives, we all need isolation—some time to embrace ourselves and reflect.
I realized that not all people want someone to talk to during their rainy days, some just want to lock in and grab a jar of candy. And being there for them doesn’t always mean being physically present. Sometimes being there means giving them space and reassurance that when they feel like themselves again, you’ll still be around, waiting.
