I'm Not Good At Starting Conversation

I feel bad that people message me to chat but I have no interest in carrying on a full on conversation with someone who I do not know or even see how they look. When I was on EP and in my early 20s I would just chat and conversate with ppl and did not care if they had no profile pic or knew them, its kind of sad now that I am no longer like that. I fee like a terrible person but to me I dislike small talk or conversating with no ultimate meeting in person.
