Being alone doesn't make me feel lonely , what about you ?

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Personally i took on the caring role for my Mother when she needed it most.
That comes with certain 'undeniables'.
It's isolating. It can be hard work. Those she/i need help from (medical professionals and the like) are often slow in responding, and even when they do, we're on their timetable.

At the same time i work in a field that is largely 1-1.
That means i can go weeks with little to no interaction from my Boss or senior figure so 'supervision' is rare and often leaves me feeling like i carry more weight than i probably should.
That too is isolating.

I haven't been home for three years now due, initially to covid restrictions and government advice. But then also illness. My Mothers and now my own.
So haven't seen children or Grandchildren or my Father who's struggling with Alzheimers.

So yeah. self-imposed exile from the world by choice is something of a luxury in my view
I really don't, I have an okay social life albeit with friends. Sometimes I think it would be cool to have a GF with some things in common that we could do together, but it's not tops on my priority list.

Being around people doesn't fill the void

Being with people doesn't make me feel not lonely.
Most of the time, it doesn’t.

once you're alone enough, you'll get lonely
sam1992 · 31-35, M
@MartinTheFirst I don't expect that
