Self-confidence

I once walked into a room full of strangers, my hands shaking. But instead of hiding, I smiled, stood tall, and spoke up. By the end, people listened—not because I was the loudest, but because I believed in myself.

Sometimes the loudest are so because they lack self-confidence, tend to put people off, so worsen things for themselves.

(Others of course, go the other way, shrinking into shyness and trying to stay quiet and un-noticed.)
