Sometimes I have done with my husband if it's relevant to recognising and dealing with a long term problem.

Dealing with specific episodes of ADHD inattentiveness was part of getting real about it, coming out of denial. They were literally life threatening - far too many near-misses and extremely expensive accidents. Once the facts were admitted, he sought help and finally got it.

To make effective change it helps first understand what causes an old habit, how it got started ; that decide on a better one, try it, practice and evolve.
