Whatever you're not changing, you are choosing.

Individual choices have universal consequences. Life is an expression of the choices we make. Who to call? What to wear? When to speak up? Where to go? Choices and decisions —some crucial, some seemingly insignificant—each of us makes them every single day. If you want a good life, then make the necessary changes. You just can't skip that part and expect life to work out. There is an order to life and if you move ahead without making the change, you'll end up having to come right back to square one, until you get it right, before you can move on to new things. This is also the cause of anxiety and depression. We need to take care of ourselves and put ourselves first.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of a victim mindset, by believing that you don’t have a choice. You have complete ownership over your life. While you may not be responsible for certain things that have happened, you are responsible for your response and what you choose to do – even if you choose to do nothing. And if you choose to do nothing, that’s totally okay, if you are good with it.

But let me ask you, are there things in your life that you want to change? What’s holding you back if you haven’t taken action yet?

When we say we want things to change, and we don’t change them, we are choosing them. And sometimes they are for very real, legit reasons. But make no mistake about it, inaction is a choice.

But if we want things to change, and we want to take action to make that a reality, we need to take full ownership of ourselves. That means taking responsibility for what’s going on with our lives – both the good and bad. It means not relying on other people or events, to define our happiness. It’s being willing to go against the grain and do what you need to do, to achieve the results you want...even if other people don’t get it. It’s about being honest with yourself about your strengths, weaknesses and shortcomings, and seeing these things as an opportunity for you to grow and improve yourself.

Thank you Grace for the post and for everything. This us really inspiring to me and I believe it would be inspiring to Alot of people too.

"I could not wake up on time because my friend called me up late night" Take responsibility. I am late because I chose to talk to him and likewise everything in our life.
I hope this gets to Alot of people. No more sleeping Sundays.

I thought it was all God's plan what happens to us?

How can you have free will if god has a plan for us all?

That is an excellent question. God does not predestine what happens to us. Just because he is omniscient, does not mean that he plans our life for us. That is up to us, strictly our choice. Many confused the Bible verse about predestination. Predestination does not mean that everything has been all planned out and set in place and there's no changes. It's simply means that God, in his omniscience, had foresight and knowledge to know ahead of time, having the ability to see into the future, yet not interfering with our lives, already knows how our life turned out. That's all it means. If it was the other way around, that would rip "choice", right out from under us, and God did not make us nor wish us to be robots with no feelings or choice.

That's why when we ask God for help and guidance, he knows best how to direct us in the right direction and also what is best for us. His guidance is wise and never set out to hurt us. God can have plans for us but that doesn't mean we will follow them. That is our choice. But with choice, comes responsibility as well. This is a good thing. Just imagine what would happen if there were no laws in this world. Everyone would do as they pleased and be killing each other over a little spat or whatever. We need rules and discipline. They make us happy and teach us many valuable and wise things.

If God tells us this is the way to heaven and we ignore that, naturally we will miss heaven and whose fault will that be? Ours alone. If you told me to come visit you in New York, yet I decided I wanted to get there my own way and do my own thing, and instead traveled south, naturally I'll never get there. God tells us things in his wisdom, for good reason. It doesn't work the other way around and we shouldn't expect it to.

God has a definite plan for our lives and it is a beautiful plan and it works so well. We can follow it or not of course, but we shouldn't be surprised by the outcome, if we neglect his wise counsel. He purposed his plan, for a successful life. Here's what he said:

If he has a plan, he has already decided what will happen, right?
That precludes any free will, doesn't it.

I don't know what this "pshhh" is all about, but no..... I explained that above. God gave us a plan for a successful life but it's up to us whether we want to listen to him or not. Your mom could tell you don't run over there, as a child, and touch that stove. It's hot and it will burn you! Well you have free choice. You can listen to her or not, but you will have consequences if you make the wrong choice. There are man-made laws and there are spiritual laws that we must adhere to, for our own health and safety. Even in the physical world, you break a law, you pay for it because that's your responsibility. And the judge is not unjust if you kill a person and he throws you in prison. You did that, not the judge and it is you who has the responsibility for your actions.
