Do you ever create a post just to see a different post in the feed?

To break up the monotony of hitting “refresh” and seeing nothing change?

No...but does anyone ever press 'new?'.
I seem to have no problems with the feed.
Perhaps remaining logged in all day helps.

@Ghostinthemachine I'm not here that much but once I've logged in I stay logged in all day.
Reckon that does help with the feed.
