I Cant Change the Past But I Can Change My Future
The giants upon whose shoulders we now stand were not university graduates whose Mum and Dad sent them through. They didn't know from the age of 16 they wanted to be astronauts. They were patent attorneys (Albert Einstein) and secretaries (Anne Frank's host for 2 years Meip Gies). They were ordinary people like you and me. There were key differences: they weren't held back by corporate or institutional red tape (requirements for x years' training and registration with y) or the need to 'keep up' and stay on facebook. They didn't need to never be hungry or thirsty.
They were willing to make sacrifices, to be called crazy, and to get their hands dirty. And people found out about them for that.
Food is Free Project. Wikileaks. Bittorrent. Wikipedia. Even open access journals were started because of one boy's (Aaron Swartz's) determination.
Change the world. Start from within. Stop reading posts like this, gentle caresses of the overburdened tree. Start doing - shake it hard and let the fruit fall. I do wonder where I'll start.
