Another Stupid Rhyme
By: Rob Paquin

Here I am In all my glory
Typing fragments Of my story
Stop on by Please annoy me
Or do your bestTo try and bore me

Take a moment to read whatever
Sometimes my rhymes seem so clever
Sometimes my stories could be better
I’m not the best of the Go Getters

I do my thing and talk my truth
I blame today upon my youth
I’m often labeled as uncouth
To which I am the living proof

I have this thing inside of me
That lets me rhyme the things I see
So I just post as if I’m free
But inside my thoughts I’m in slavery

Caught up in my own perceptions
Most of which I hardly mention
A captive of my good intentions
With these two fists I’m always clenching

But there are moments when I step out
To see what life is all about
I’ll speak my truth but I won’t shout
And what I say you shouldn’t doubt

There’s times I grow a bit too bold
And speak my truth outside the mold
I’ll say shit that caught you cold
But it’s all good, or so I’ve been told

I walk with wings that don’t dare to fly
Although there’s been some times I tried
And when you see me slide on by
Try not to mention the tear in my eye

So if I ever overwhelmed you
Be at ease because I intend to
Keep shit simple and not pretend to
Be what you want or try to bend you

I’m just living inside my rhyme
Poetic bliss that can’t keep time
Walking along and I say I’m fine
Which I am most of the time

I hope you have a very nice day
And please don’t fret on things I say
They may be true and that’s okay
My truth ain’t yours and this ain’t no play

Here inside our similar worlds
I try to let my truth unfurl
Just like a flag in the wind; to curl
Dancing in the rain; I twirl
