Subway was a decent alternative to my go-to sub shop. They made mean meatball sub, or Montreal smoked meat/corned beef sub.
But my favorite--a vegie lettuce on white, with white cheddar-- was never the same. Only my old joint made it like none other.
Subway had a peculiar taste though --that was the odd thing. The smell in the shop was also in the bun/toppings. Think it was the dough in the ovens.
KFC was the place for popcorn chicken though...that takes me back, been a while.
