You HAD Covid and still needed a vaccine?

I never knew you could get reinfected.
@LunarOrbit that bit got me too.

Like, if you had it ....you would have built a real strong immunity to it .

But I've had people argue that this virus doesn't work this way .

Which is weird, because all others that I know of , do.

I swear ....there is shit they're not telling us.

@BoobooSnafu I’m not aware of anyone getting reinfected yet. Nobody gets the same flu twice right? Always a different strain I thought.
@BoobooSnafu So far some people who have gotten Covid have been reinfected, so apparently the immunity from the virus itself doesn’t last as long.

@LunarOrbit vaccines don't make you immune. Just lessens the severity. That's with any vaccine and any virus.
Consider the flu for example. You can get the flu. Then get flu shot, Then get flu again...

@iamnikki i think its a different strain of flu. And I got a polio vaccine, but I never got polio. Not even just a little

@LunarOrbit better to have some protection than none at all
@bijouxbroussard but a vaccine doesn't make you immune either.

Well it does , but being immune doesn't mean you won't get reinfected .

Being immune means your body is now able to fight the infection and you won't suffer nearly as much.

Like flu shots....you can still get the flu, but you will only be mildly ill, as opposed to bedridden for two weeks .
@LunarOrbit sometimes a person's immune system is so good, they show no symptoms.

So yeah ...you can get the same flu twice...its just by the second time ....your immune system is on the ball, and is ready to attack the invading virus and stop it spreading through out your body .

And as to the polio.

You may have gotten it , but becusee of a vaccine, it was killed of by your t- cells recognising it , and stopping it in its tracks .
