Did I mess up my whole future?

So. I'm in my third year as an aide at a school. This year has been more of a challenge due to health issues and changes in my superiors.

One day, the battery on my new mobility device was low, and I did not know hw long it would last. I still had 30 minutes of shift. I took my coworker's advice, and headed down toward the entrance early, and then had him punch me out.

I got caught. I got a letter in my file. What I did was morally, and possibly, legally wrong. I have NEVER done anything like that before. I accept FULL responsibility, explanation or not.

I am applying for a new job for next year. Made it to second round interviews. Assuming I rock the second interview, Did my moment of brainlessness cost me a chance at a dream job, due to references?

I would not mention that incident unless someone asks. when references are written the person writing the reference are not allowed to write negative things about the person, they can however miss out certain key words which would make you look more positive, that's the case in my experience and with the guidance in my country.
