Why does my cat love vanilla ice-cream?

I doubt he's lactose intolerant (most cats are, but he'll gladly consume dairy products) but cats simply can't taste sweet stuff. But my cat loves vanilla ice cream (the other one doesn't like dairy)! Does your cat love vanilla ice-cream?

Cats can't fast sweets??? I didn't know that. I thought they would consume antifreeze because it was sweet.
