Did you know that "vodka" almost literally means "water" in Russian?

It's stemmed from it, I think, despite vodka being one of the highest-proofed of more traditional alcohols, usually at 70-80 proof i.e. 35%-40% alcohol. The Cyrillic for vodka is водка, and the Cyrillic for water is воды (vodui).

I drink very little. I do not like alcohol because it took my mother from me. However, every now and then I cannot help but to drink the slightest amount of some liquors.
