Anyone else wake up to the sound of thunder today?

No no, not Tue Ray Bradbury story. A huge lightning storm moved into my area. Florida is living up to its reputation as the Lightning State. We are the second in the world when it comes to lightning, second only to Central Africa. I love lightning. In case you didn't know, it was my first obsession. I still love lightning xD

It got close to me one time, very scary

You don't have to. Dude. I'm a lightning chaser. I know what that's like. :P In fact, I can't even tell you how close I've been. I think every Floridian has experienced far more than one <20 footer xD

I have been in the house or under cover when it struck a pole or tree in the yard or a neighbors yard but wow, standing next to it really go to me. Either right before or at the same time I felt like every hair on my head and arms was standing up then bam.

I think lightning struck in my yard. It jolt me out of a dream. Aww I already forgot it. It might come back to me later. But it wasn't particularly pleasant.

It would be interesting if you found a fulgurite in your yard now.

There are probably thousands. But I'm not digging up my yard unless I see exactly where it struck. There was a tree struck a little whole ago. Maybe if I dig there. I do have a fulgurite, though, from a long time ago. I think it's one. My cousin gave it to me and asked me to identify it.
