Difference between love, being inlove with someone?

Love is something you can feel for anyone. I'd even go as far as to say you can feel love for anything. But "in love" is like when you can't see the future without that person. Being "in love" means you cherish the moments more than normal, and you strive for that person's happiness.
At least that's what I think it is; I'm no expert
