Why do a lot of older people keep adding me but not people in my age range?

I've came to this strange realization that I have barely to no friends my age.

Bonus question. Are your friends usually older or younger?

At your age I liked hanging out with the older guys. They knew more about things I wanted to learn.

Now days I would rather hang with the those that are younger.

Just not into my own age group I guess.
