I'm probably asking for it... But why do people have to make such unnecessary insults?

For instance, when someone on here asks a perverted question and then someone starts verbally abusing them. Why don't we just ignore them and leave them to themselves rather than attacking them?

Because they're most likely going to keep asking until someone answers them. If the question is overtly gross or uncalled for, people are going to voice they're opinion about it.

But I would think that if they were simply ignored then they would eventually leave. And I think that people could voice their opinion without verbally abusing the person, right? They could just say, "Hey, man, I don't really think that that's right or okay to say that."

No, not on this site. Being ignored is usually seen as an invitation to continue, and if you offend people in some way, even unintentionally, you might receive some harsh words about it. That's the cause and effect relationship I guess.

Yeah, I suppose there's not really much I could do to change that; I just wish that it didn't have to be that way, if you know what I mean.
