Because your surrounded by the type of people that build civilisations. If you were in a slum you wouls be surrounded by people who are more like the vikings and huns, no one would care if you were innicent and pure or not. They wouldent care about anything you did, where you went or anything. It would be every one for them self and the strongest, cleverest and luckyest take what they want.
