Why am I in love with the person I Call daddy?

I had a daddy complex as a teen, I ended up falling for my older friend's husband, who I called Daddy, we ended up moving in together and it was the most passionate relationship I've ever had, eventually the fact that he had a father like control over the relationship was the reason we split. I just grew out of it, I wanted an equal.
