My parents told me im sudanease for the same reason, but i started thinking, i wasn't brought up in sudan like my parents, I feel slightly out of place in Sudan , you know?

well, if you lived your whole life in ireland then you are from ireland, but since your ethnicity is sudanese, it's nice to mention that so whoever you are talking to doesn't think you are irish in the ancestral sense. like i'm chinese-american. so i always have to say chinese but born in the states. or american but my parents are chinese. i guess you could say sudanese-irish though i don't think that's the standard for over there and american isn't an ethnicity really where irish is. i like that though, sudanese-irish, though it may confuse people to think you are mixed, so that kind of blows that out of the water. i'd just say i'm from ireland but my parents are sudanese or sudanese but lived in ireland my whole life.
