there's a lot of new blood in the democratic party, but the problem is that the apathy and skepticism of the general public and funding to get some simplified message out there to people. You'll probably have to wait for congress to shift back, where things were safer before 1994 to see things normalize.
And well you cant expect a lot without economic change and proper policy. People want to go back to the solid Keynesian Economics that fixed the nation and worked well 1934-1975.
And well the school of the right with Milton Friedman basically was grasped by some people with an inflation crisis and it finally took till the Asian Flu in 1998 or so for people to realize that Disaster Capitalism isnt good policy anymore. And add to it bad trade policy and globalization that no one really wants cept the World Bank and Corporations, and the key is having low unemployment and a high minimum wage and with that a stable middle class.
But you'll need to go back to a tax policy before reagan, and well think of the golden years of capitalism under Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, which was all under Keynesian Economics, and fairly high corporate taxes. Now the burden is on a middle class to pay for the burden of running the dog and pony show, as well as the mistakes of poor policy.
.................
no one really wants Hiliary and Republican-Lite Democrats anymore, but they did was was politically safe, and you have crappy trade policy, you got suffering and poverty with Republican Welfare policies of the 90s, you got a minimum wage that basically hasnt changed since Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter.
..................
People would rather have someone like Paul Krugman running the show rather than some Republican-Lite Democrats running the show........
the question is can Sanders or Biden or the other half dozen people get traction with the primaries which really don't involve enough of the people who vote Democrat. Do you really want it to be based on a few shallow and rushed debates, in like a few states?
............
The problem isnt getting a Democrat elected, the problem is waiting for congress to change back in 2-6 years, and within 15 years, both congress and the white house will be fully democratic for a long long time demographically, the question is just how much short term damage politicians will do to the economy and the system, and the problem are the republican-lite democrats who do anything that's politically safe.
All these weird issues in the 90s like the V-Chip in televisions, which were basically issues only important to swing voters, and it felt like you had the idiot 15% of people deciding on useless issues, and the whole economic and foreign policy of a nation or world gets decided on it.
In the good old days, LBJ could put Barry Goldwater in his place with the Daisy Television Advertisment saying an idiot like him would give us World War Three, and well thank god Nixon wasnt President in 1960, since Nixon with the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis would have created a rather interesting World War Three.
