it means there is a bond between you, for what ever reason.
and if the other person feels the same way, it means it is a close, and special bond.

In my case it was calls starting at 9 or 10pm and not ending until 3-4am and I was thinking it might have been near midnight until I looked at the clock and realized how late it was.
