I am trying to learn French and a friend suggested listening to French music would help, any suggestions on artists?

music? I think watching French films with subtitles would be much better; that way you can hear the way the language sounds and is spoken......but music? naaa!! stick to the films...
one that comes to mind is "Elevator to the Gallows" with Jeanne Moreau...a real Hitchcock-type thriller,,,,,so you'd be entertained while learning!!!!
