Any advice about starting an etsy account?
I've been thinking about starting an account to sell crafts, personalized art, etc. on there but want to find out more info first.

you'll do fine then. careful with complaints that your craft copies someone else's design, they can just shut you down overnight. if you have original designs, you could be very successful, etsy has enormous exposure.
