Why does a person become annoyed for being judged negatively but not when judged positively?

In my experience, a lot of people who are judged negatively are usually judged ba<x>sed off stereotypes that are not true at all in their particular case and get annoyed at people judging negatively ba<x>sed on the assumption the stereotype is true of ALL those in a given circumstance.

Frankly, for me personally, even when judged ba<x>sed off positive stereotypes, if the stereotype I'm being judged for is not true to me specifically; I will still get annoyed by it.
