Why shd a Republican have to defend Obama when he & other Dems never defend any Republican against the worst of slanders

Why should have anybody have to affirm Obama is a Christian when Obama attacks Christians verbally and resolutely ignores the massacring of Christians by Muslims?

I would say that the only person who has a responsibility to defend someone, is their self. A person may choose to defend someone else. Certainly a spouse, parent, or child may feel some obligation to defend a family member; But, there is no moral, ethical, or legal requirement to do so.

Most particularly, there is not obligation for a candidate to political office to defend a political opponent.

The absolute and positive proof is that none of us "know" for certain what is in Barrack Obama's heart and mind as pertains to his religious beliefs and affiliation. Nor do any of us know for certain whether or not he was actually born in the US. There has been a lot of intentional obfuscation on Obama's part and a lot of evidence to support several "theories or claims.

Personally, I am unconvinced that he was really born in Hawaii. I do believe he claims to be a Christian and he demonstrably worshiped in a Christian church that preaches Black Liberation Theology and the concept of collective salvation, rather than what the Christian bible clearly states, in the reported words of Jesus Christ himself, when he says "Whosoever shall believeth in me shall not perish, but shall live an everlasting life," or words to that effect.

Regardless of whether or not he claims Islam or Christianity as his religion, he has time and again demonstrated that he has strong sympathies with Islam and Muslims -- no surprise in that he attended Islamic schools for a part of his life and lived in an Islamic society.
It is clear that he is very unwilling to entertain the idea that there are Muslims committing grievous wrongs against Christians.
Obama's only reaction to the beheading of a woman by a Muslim radical in Oklahoma City was to wait a few weeks and then send a laudatory letter to the man's mosque. It's pretty plain that he is a crypto-Muslim, albeit a very heterodox one.

Because it is OK for Dems. to disrespect Repubs. But Republicans MUST defend Obama or they are not bipartisan.

that's untrue in multiple ways, but I'll focus on the main topic. republicans have to respect Obama because he's the PRESIDENT, just as previous republican presidents deserved the respect of the Democratic party.

Lol wrong, the other way around is true tho
Republican presidents were not treated with respect by Democrats. Far from it.

I agree. Also outside of his wife, do we really know what his religion is? Obama has been lying to us for seven years.
