No. I really do not believe that this will finish off Ashley Madison. There is too much money in it for them to let it fail. They may change the name and re-release or use some other artifice. They already have claimed that they have upgraded their security.

The other side of this equation is that people cheat and this makes it easier for them.

I must admit that I had an UNpaid Ashley Madison account that I created several years ago. I never used it in any way other than as a basis on which to build some fantasies. I have done the same on other sites over the years, but I never go beyond the fantasy stage. I am sure many of the people on Ashley Madison are in a similar state of mind. On the other hand, those who have paid accounts I suspect are more serious and probably use the service. These people will accept the reassurances of greater security and continue to use the site.

I should also say that it is not a trivial thing to find the list and to search it. I looked and had no success.

I don't understand this at all. Could you clarify?

I have heard some people speak rather cruelly about this, saying they hope everybody whose name is there gets exposed and dumped by their mates. Your comment helps illustrate well why I recoil from such sentiments. We should remember that it is absolutely not true that "Once a cheater always a cheater."

For the record, I once or twice got directed there momentarily from other websites, a kind of obnoxious popup thing. But I never spent any time there.

After all the reports came out that there was a list of everyone who had joined Ashley Madison, I searched fairly extensively to find the list. I was not able to locate or access the list of Ashley Madison members or their data.
