That really wasn't any of Obama's business. It's sad, but I'm surprised he even commented on it. Foley chose to be there. Bad decision. Nothing whatsoever to do with the US government. Do you know how many Americans are in prison in Mexico right now because their families can't pay the "ransom" to get them out, and the US government does nothing!
The US government does not have the obligation to ransom hostages, but when a foreign entity wantonly murders Americans, the President should comment and should make them pay a price.

No. Part of individual freedom is the government stays out of your life. The Americans who have been murdered in ISIS chose to go there, they weren't American soldiers or representatives of the government. Sad, but none of the government's business! ISIS is not our problem!
We may not be interested in Islamic State, but Islamic State is interested in us.
