What software do any of you writers/authors use while writing and/or editing?

I use Word and of course the spell checker. I also use Natural reader to listen to what I wrote. Hearing it from an outside voice catches words that are spelled correctly but it's a wrong word that spell and grammar check missed. It also brings to my attention the over use of a word in the paragraph. for example, "He said". Sometimes a few words can make a huge difference in if the story flows or becomes stale. I hear it better if it's heard from my outer ear not just my inner ear because I know what I mean but it doesn't come out that way when I hear it. Hope that helps.

I use Openoffice, because it's pretty much the same as Microsoft word except for the fact that it's free while Microsoft word isn't.
