How do you explain to someone that they are important when they feel they are useless?

Honestly, I suffer insecurity and the best way to tell someone that they are important is to show them. Tell that person (more than once) how important they are (and change up how you say it). Actions speak louder than words though, so show them that they are important by making time for them and constantly encouraging them.

find their good qualities, strenghs, and accomplishments, and enumerate them. Just did this tonight for a new friend of mine.

Just let them vent and be there in a quiet way, never venture to far away. You need to win their trust and that takes time.

Maybe, by explaining that we are all useless? Join the club, kinda thing?
