counselling, clinical psychology, or psychotherapy?

I'm looking into a career change into one of the 3. Any thoughts?

Well Good luck Mental health, at least in this country, is a hard business to get into. These days its all about pushing pills and getting ppl in and out the door so can charge the insurance companies the messily .50 cents they are willing to shell out. Id advise a homeopathic angle to what you do if you're interested. People are much more comfortable paying for and even taking natural remedies.

hmm but I don't believe in homeopathy by strict definition. .. natural remedies sure but not homeopathy. plus I believe that view to be less true now than perhaps 10 years ago, at least if you seek help from paid services. Though with little evidence. I was heading for counselling as a private practitioner, potentially online as well as face to face.

That's the point though I'm looking for actual evidence and reasoning. I know all the subjective opinion stuff...

Well my only personal experience is close relative who is a Psychiatrist. From what I understand, second hand, is that the business of mental health is fading. Online seems more of a secure business aspect but how do you really counsel online? Generally speaking, the idea behind therapy or counseling or any of those practices work best face to face. I know my relative wont even do phone sessions unless isn't absolutely necessary. I think something all natural or methodically based like meditation practices or yoga incorporated into a mental health facet helps ppl feel like there is a tangible process to this otherwise "fantastic" mental health process. It sounds like you have a good basis of what you want to do and I think that's a strong step in the right direction. All the power to you!

personally I never could be anything more than counselor because would never bring my self to perscribe anything as I have seen first hand what wrong medication can do to a person. My ex wife was put on medication after medication when a teen now she can not see the truth and imagines things all time and convinced they real. she can get violent too now and doesnt remember it after

I feel much the same. In some cases it can help as a treat switch short term but. .. wary. Thanks for your first hand experience :) but clinical psychologists don't really prescribe as far as I know. That's psychiatrists?
