Are my fish spawning please help????

i got a new fish that's a ryukin and I have a shubunkin in my 2 and a half foot tank, he's been following and chasing her around the tank. I've been feeding them blood warms and I have plants in their but he's been chasing her around the tank and pushing her towards the plants. So I'm not sure if they want to spawn or what but it's weird because before I got the ryukin , he just use be very lazy well didn't look alive and just laid around the tank not doing anything. But now he chases her. My ryukin's name is marthin and is 7 inches in length and my shubunkin's name is bigger and is roughly 8 inches.
