Does it always take long for a job application response?

I put in 9 to 11 job applications, yet so far, I've gotten no response, and I really don't understand, I've had prior work experience, which was working for my county's department of labor (which apparently has a big impact on my applications), so why is no one responding to me?Does it always take long?

Unfortunately, it's become the nature of the job market. Employers receive so many resumes and job apps that it's become impossible to answer them all. Plus, the attitude among corporate America is that all workers are expendable, so they really don't care about getting back with you personally.

If you have not gotten a response in a reasonable amount of time, it means that they do NOT want you working for them.
