What is the strangest thing you ever buy ?

Some years ago I worked on a contract for the department of health and had to fly to a meeting on an HIV programme. Most passengers were transferring to holiday flights as I put my luggage through the scanner. The operator was puzzled by the 1000 plus little organic rings that appeared when she scanned my luggage. You can just imagine the look on her face when I replied "They are my condoms".
