Are my intentions for a relationship misguided?

I am more or less kinda lonely. I have family, I have a job and a few friends. but I want more than that. I want a relationship in order to get to know someone on a more personal level and share a certain personal level intimacy you just don't find with the average friend. Are my motivations coming from a good place or are they misguided?
