Can a total selfie queen really be that insecure about their looks?

I mean, how insecure can someone really be about their looks when they can't stop taking pictures of themselves?
SudsGreen
I think someone can be insecure who takes a lot of pictures of themselves and gets a rush from the flow of likes and compliments they get from their selfies. And if not that maybe when they take a picture of themselves that makes them look different than what they see in the mirror they somehow convince themselves in that moment they're beautiful but only if they have perfect lighting and the right angle and the right makeup in the right hair

My older sister is a total selfie queen. She can take over 20 in a day easily. She has always been really vain. The only thing she isn't insecure about is her looks. She is very aware of how beautiful she is on the outside but hates everything she is on the inside. Not all people that take a bunch of selfies insecure about their looks.

20 in a day? Are you fucking kidding me? My classmate Sylvia takes 20 a MINUTE. When bored, she spams selfies to me on Snapchat. I'll be in class and my phone will start going INSANE and when I open it, I have EIGHTY THREE FUCKING SELFIES from her. For no. Fucking. Reason.

She would be blocked from sending me any kind of messages. Fuck that.

It's her annoying habit when bored. Which is why I try my hardest to keep her entertained. I only a fucking Snapchat because a girl I was dating made me get one, Stephanie Rodriguez.

See, I always knew you were smart, Moon. People tell me I'm insecure because my self esteem is too high. Which makes NO sense, because that's the complete opposite of insecurity.

Uhhm when that person feeds of the comments and likes that he/she gets it becomes part of her confidence and its not natural

Yes, they often look for self-confirmation and confirmation from others (comments on their pictures) to know they are good enough.

The need for incessant self and third party validation is the definition of insecurity
AtleastImHonest
It's not just all about insecurity. It's about conceit.
