Why do people talk for a little bit then just up and quit talking?

My, in real life I can barely talk to anyone, and here I have difficulties finding anyone who can truly chat and have interesting things to say, just like you, they all go away after some answers, but very few of them ! That's crazy... I thought I'd be able to have cool, long chats here.

Because that's life and that's how people do. They don't care about the conversation that much to keep it up.

Here on EP, it's probably because the conversation isn't going the way they'd want. Maybe you're thinking guppies and she's thinking sharks.
