How old were you the last time you went trick-or-treating?

The last time I went trick-or-treating, I was 14 years old. But the last time I really enjoyed trick-or-treating, I was 13. I do think that after a certain age, people are too old for trick-or-treating, but I'm not sure exactly where the cutoff age should be. Maybe when you've started high school, you're too old. Or maybe it depends on the person. What do you think?

At my most-recent time, if memory serves, I was 14 or so, because I was tasked with "escorting" my kid brother, who was 7 years younger than I.

Oh, I see. I remember when my next older sister used to go with me, after she had quit trick-or-treating herself. Once, when I went trick-or-treating with a big group of kids, from the neighborhood and from school, she was our chaperone. She kept us all together and decided when it was time to go home. I'm not sure I appreciated it as much as I should have at the time, but it really was nice of her. And it was very nice of you too.

"Nice" can be appreciated, years "post facto."

Yeah, I suppose it's not too late to thank her, even now, all these years later.

I would contact her and thank her, if I were you. Never too late to let someone know they were (and are) appreciated.

Okay, I will. :)
