Am I the only one who has a difficult time picking out cards for people, because almost none of them are truthful?

I think it's important to be truthful, even in the cards that we give people for their birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. But most greeting cards I see are for people who are practically living saints. For example, I just had to buy a card for my mom for her birthday today. Almost all of the cards that I saw went on and on about how mom had always encouraged them, always believed in them even through all of their failures, always loved them even through all their difficult phases, always listened to them and understood them, and the list goes on. I looked over every single card in the store and didn't find a single one that I could give my mom without it being a lie. This made me sad. Looking for the right card always does that to me. In the end, I got her an all-purpose blank card and simply wrote "Happy birthday, Mom" on the inside.Am I placing too much importance on truthfulness? What if someone started creating cards that were more honest?

think everyone has that problem as well i do sometimes with my parents lol. like its saying they are the best ever and that they are some type of honorable person who is perfect and im thinking "but they are not perfect and make lots of mistakes' lol and my dad has problems as well with his mom. he will be like" i dot one thats to nice cause that would not be telling the truth" and the chuckle after he would say that. i think evrybody does cause its someone you love dearly but they may not be THAT great because if yo gave it to them it would be blatan you would just be saying that to be nice.

Thanks. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.
