One very long story, or 2 shorter stories?
I am writing a new story and not sure if it should be one and long or two parts.

If it's some sort of fantasy epic, two shorter ones might be the best idea.

Mer. Okay, it depends on who you're marketing to. If you want to see your book read by a bachelor by the fire on a lonely night, then one long book--sort of the Harlequin Romance feel. Or if you want a wider audience, two shorter stories. Personally, I'd go for the one long one, but it's your book. Plot synopsis? Or would it spoil it?
