thank you. thats very nice to know. although i'm a bit paranoid, cuz so many abusive people start off pretty damned charming, and by the time you realize whats happened your neck deep in it, and you're so overwhelmed your're not sure how to get out of it.

yes i know. the abusive i get is mostly emotion/verbal and financial. go figure. financial. haha

Absolutely it can. It's well documented in the research literature. Abusive relationships can cause PTSD, Acute stress disorder, depression, various anxiety disorders, etc.

I know it can it's what my counselor says happened to me. All the diagnosis I have been given got erased to this. Thanks to my parents, siblings, stepfamily and of course my husband.

Yes, it definitely can. People often need counseling to recover afterwards; they're beaten down emotionally, even if not physically.
