It's a quote from someone I recently had a discussion with. Apparently, according to this person, the concepts of good and evil have no basis, no foundation in objective reality (moral relativism). I don't agree, I think that's absurd and so obviously wrong that I can't believe that anyone could ever truly, and consistently, live by this rule.

@jshm2 Well, that's their problem then. If someone has broken the law by speeding, and they vigourously deny the obvious, then they're only going to look foolish and have to pay the fine anyway.

@jshm2 You know what I meant. Don't be so pedantic.

I voted yes, because one could argue either side, but I feel like you’d need to establish a foundation for the debate. Do both parties believe in God? Are we accounting for the ends or the means? There’s a lot to unpack there
there's nothing good nor bad, but that thinking makes it so.

Evil = Hurting other people
@Jexie So it's okay to be violent and destructive to everything else (like the Earth itself and the life upon it) then, as long as people aren't in any way hurt.
What about those who enjoy sado-masochism?

@Bel6EQUJ5 All life but humans are most important. As for your second question, you answered it yourself, they enjoy it so that's not really hurting them. Evil is basically when you have ill intentions for doing something.
