Love’s Philosophy - Percy Shelley

Love’s Philosophy
The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the ocean,
The winds of heaven mix for ever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine?—

See the mountains kiss high heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?

@bookerdana I was flipping through this Percy Shelley book that I found for $2 at the Goodwill and it popped open to this page, so I thought I’d share it. You’ll probably end up with another BC. 😂

@Canuckle Well all those poets..Marvells,To His Coy Mistress...Had we but world enough and time,
This coyness, lady, were no crime. ........The grave’s a fine and private place,
But none, I think, do there embrace.
Now therefore, while the youthful hue
Sits on thy skin like morning dew,
And while thy willing soul transpires
At every pore with instant fires,
Now let us sport us while we may, ,,,,another Letch! 🤨
